Trivia

Things worth knowing

• 1Released 6 years ago.
• 2Original score by Anne Nikitin. Worth a dedicated listen after — most great films lose half their impact without the score.
• 3Editor Alex Mackie shaped the rhythm. On an edit-heavy film, the editor does more to control your pulse than the director.
• 4Matthew Goode and Pippa Haywood and Paula Patton carry the top of the cast.
• 5Marketing tagline: "Be careful what you wish for.".
• 6IMDB entry: tt5556054 — still the authoritative cross-reference for credits and trivia.
• 7Only 90 TMDB ratings — you're getting ahead of the curve on this one.

Ultimately, what it lacks in comedy and childlike wonder, it does make up for in interesting takeaways. The notion of “being careful what you wish for“ isn't new, and it's not necessarily explored in any depth, but it is evident in the film - and more importantly, it's well harnessed through the children's family struggles. I like that it didn't shy away from difficult topics that many families face, but it really is aimed at a very young audience. 'Four Kids and It' will be great for young kids stuck at home, running out of things to watch and searching for adventure. It's entirely appropriate, but certainly not one of those family films you need to put time aside for to sit through with them. The magic in this one is lost. - Joel Kalkopf Read Joel's full article... https://www.maketheswitch.com.au/article/review-four-kids-and-it-be-careful-what-you-wish-for
