Fair terms. Plain English.
By using MoodPlayr you agree to these terms. We tried to keep them short and readable. If something is unclear, ask — we'll explain.
1. The service
MoodPlayr is a free web application that helps you discover movies and TV series based on your mood, runtime, and country. We source metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB) and display streaming availability returned by that API. MoodPlayr does not host, stream, or distribute any film or television content.
2. Your account
- You must be 13 or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Enable 2FA if your email provider supports it.
- One account per person. Share credentials at your own risk.
- You are responsible for anything that happens on your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content in diary entries, reviews, or handle names.
- Scrape the service, automate account creation, or circumvent rate limits / bot protection.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Reverse-engineer, attack, or attempt to extract data from other users' accounts.
- Use MoodPlayr to distribute malware, phishing links, or spam.
- Upload import files that aren't your own data, or that contain malware or content you don't have the right to share.
- Violate TMDB's terms while using data surfaced through our app.
Violations can trigger immediate account suspension. Repeated or severe violations lead to permanent bans plus data deletion.
4. Content you submit
Diary entries, reviews, handles, bio text, reminders, the moods you share in a watch party, and any viewing history you import all remain yours. You grant MoodPlayr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display that content on the service as part of normal operation (e.g., on your public profile if you've enabled it, or to the members of a watch party you join). When you import a history file, you confirm it's your own data and you have the right to upload it.
We may remove content that violates these terms, without notice. You can delete any of your content at any time.
5. Intellectual property
- The MoodPlayr name, logo, code, and original design are © 2026 MoodPlayr.
- Movie/TV posters, backdrops, plot summaries, and metadata are owned by the respective studios or rightsholders, made available via TMDB.
- We claim no ownership over any film or television work.
6. Free forever
MoodPlayr is free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do:
- Every feature available today will remain free for users who signed up before the change.
- We will announce paid features at least 30 days before launch.
7. Third-party links
When you click "Watch on Netflix" or a similar link, you leave MoodPlayr and enter that third party's app or website. We're not responsible for third-party content, pricing, or terms.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that streaming availability, ratings, or metadata are accurate at any given moment — that's TMDB's source, and providers change constantly. We do our best.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, MoodPlayr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost time, lost recommendations, or bad movie nights. Our total cumulative liability is capped at USD $50 or the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (likely $0).
10. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings (or by emailing hello@gunjanjaswal.me).
- We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate section 3.
- On termination, your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute not resolved informally will be settled in the competent courts of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
