No. The mood quiz, browse, movie and TV pages, the before-sleep pick, Streaming Alerts, and Spoiler Shield all work without login. Watchlist, diary, reminders, Vibe Wheel, imports, and Watch Party need an account because they rely on your personal history.

You swipe through six mood cards (Brainy, Escape, Cry, Tense, Cool, Laugh) and pick a runtime bucket. We match your 'yes' cards against each title's mood tags, filter by runtime, and rank by fit score plus rating.

The Movie Database (TMDB). MoodPlayr is not endorsed or certified by TMDB — we use their public API. Posters, backdrops, cast, crew, ratings, and streaming availability all flow from TMDB.

No. We never host or stream any film or TV content. We tell you where a title is legally available in your country and link you there. Every play happens on the rightsholder's own service.

Yes. The country dropdown in the header filters streaming availability to your region. We support every region TMDB's watch-provider API covers — currently 80+ countries.

Yes. The diary accepts any combination of date watched, star rating (0–10 with halves), one-line review, and rewatch flag. Only the date is required.

Yes, native iOS and Android apps are on the 2026 roadmap. The web version is already mobile-first and installable as a PWA (Add to Home Screen).

Yes to both, from Settings. "Delete account" removes your account and everything tied to it immediately (backups purge within 90 days). "Download my data" gives you a JSON copy of your profile, diary, lists, progress and reminders.
