Tight 74-minute runtime — shorter than most television pilots.

A plague of locusts strikes the Great Valley, decimating the plants and forcing the dinosaurs to migrate in search of food. When the adults in the herd begin fighting over the scarce resources, young Littlefoot and his friends Petrie, Cera, Ducky and Spike split off from the main group, becoming stranded on an island after their path was destroyed by a tsunami. As they search for a way off the island, they encounter an old acquaintance who may become friend or foe.

The "Friends for Dinner" song was honestly pretty cute. I think the first track that has grated on me in the series up to this point since Land Before Time 2's egg-snatchin' song... Actually not just "since" that song, it literally is just those two songs I haven't groaned at. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand these are movies for kids. I watched them when I was a kid, but kids' movies can still be good to adults, and often are. This one is... more "okay" to adults. Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole.
