It’s a Summer Film! is a charming high school story that blends humor, creativity, and a surprising sci-fi twist, marking a strong directorial debut for Soshi Masumoto. The film stands out through its contrast between characters' film genres, heartfelt friendships, and the unexpected emotional depth beneath its light-hearted surface. With Marika Ito’s award-winning performance and a warm, satisfying ending, this is a must-watch for fans of coming-of-age stories and behind-the-scenes filmmaking adventures.
