Trivia

Things worth knowing

• 1Released 17 years ago.
• 2International production across 5 countries: France, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom, United States of America.
• 3Directed by Jordan Scott, shot by John Mathieson. Note their partnership — DPs and directors often return to each other across a career.
• 4Original score by Javier Navarrete. Worth a dedicated listen after — most great films lose half their impact without the score.
• 5Editor Valerio Bonelli shaped the rhythm. On an edit-heavy film, the editor does more to control your pulse than the director.
• 6Eva Green and Juno Temple and María Valverde carry the top of the cast.
• 7Marketing tagline: "Innocence isn't lost. It's taken.".
• 8IMDB entry: tt1183665 — still the authoritative cross-reference for credits and trivia.
• 9Classified under 17 themes, including "uniform", "based on novel or book", "nightmare", "england".
